Derma-Wave (No Needle Mesotherapy)
Mesotherapy is now a popular treatment for reducing the appearance of cellulite. While the treatment is very successful, treatments involve a series of injections that may be painful or cause unsightly bruising. A new treatment, called DermaWave No Needle Mesotherapy, uses specially designed pulses of electrical energy to relieve the congested tissue.
The DermaWave treatment is based on a new technique called Aquaphoreses, which uses specialized electrical waveforms to help reactive specific physiological processes in tissue that contribute to the formation of cellulite. These include microcirculation, lymph drainage and enhanced blood flow.
Each treatment session lasts about 30 minutes and you will need to complete a series of 10 sessions to achieve results. Typical benefits are seen after 5 or 6 visits although results obviously depend on the severity of the cellulite condition.
Advantages of No Needle Mesotherapy:
• Less Pain Involved
• No Injections
• No Bruising
Perlane®
Perlane® is an injectable cosmetic dermal filler that has been used to soften wrinkles and facial folds of patients across the world. It is also a popular filler for lip augmentation, facial depressions, and facial scarring.
What is Perlane®?
Perlane® is made from non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel. This means that Perlane® contains no animal products. Since hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin and other tissue, there is no need for a skin test when using Perlane® filler.
The hyaluronic acid in Perlane® supplements the body’s natural supply, which becomes depleted with age. Perlane® is biodegradable so its effects are not permanent. The results of a Perlane® filler treatment tend to last six months to a year. This is much longer than the typical results of collagen injections, which may only last three to six months.
Unlike BOTOX® Cosmetic, Perlane® does not make you numb. Perlane® can be used in conjunction with BOTOX® Cosmetic, which neutralizes the muscles that create wrinkles, but Perlane® simply reduces the visibility of wrinkles and folds.
What Areas of the Face Can Be Treated with Perlane®?
The hyaluronic acid in Perlane® can be used to improve the contour of facial skin and to reduce wrinkles, folds, scars, and other facial skin depressions.
Common uses for Perlane® filler include:
•Wrinkle correction
•Diminishing worry lines, smile lines, crow’s feet, marionette lines at corners of the mouth, and smoker’s lines
•Lip enhancement
•Reducing the severity of nasolabial folds
•Chin augmentation
•Filling cheek depressions•Redefining lip border
•Softening acne scars
Other, less common, uses for Perlane® filler include:
•Filling hollows under the eyes
•Creating a temporary eyebrow lift
•Correcting facial depressions caused by fat loss
•Softening the appearance of jowls
Restylane® vs. Perlane® Filler
Perlane® is primarily the same product as Restylane®, but Perlane® filler contains a larger concentration of hyaluronic acid. Because of this higher concentration of hyaluronic acid, Perlane® is usually used for larger folds, while Restylane® is better suited for smaller wrinkles or to maintain the results of a previous Perlane® injection.
Because of the differing levels of hyaluronic acid, Restylane® is less expensive than Perlane® filler.
ArteFill® (Artecoll®)
ArteFill® injections have been used throughout Europe and Canada for more than a decade under the name Artecoll® to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds (the deep lines that run from side of the nose to the corner of the mouth). ArteFill® (originally submitted as Artecoll®) seems poised to receive full approval from the FDA for nasolabial treatment soon and is currently being used by U.S. doctors participating in FDA clinical trials.
What is ArteFill® (Artecoll®)?
ArteFill® is a new breed of dermal filler that offers longer lasting results than other cosmetic filler injections.
ArteFill® (known as Artecoll® outside of the United States) is made of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres (miniature beads) that are suspended in bovine collagen. PMMA has been used previously in some medical implants.
When an ArteFill® injection is given, the solution not only acts as a dermal filler, but its microspheres also stimulate the body to produce its own collagen. As the injected collagen slowly degrades naturally, the newly produced collagen replaces it. This gives ArteFill® long-lasting, almost permanent results.
How is ArteFill® (Artecoll®) Used?
ArteFill® (or Artecoll®) injections are administered by the doctor directly into the desired treatment area – currently nasolabial folds are the only facial area for which ArteFill® is seeking FDA approval. Unlike fillers such as collagen, ArteFill® does not need to be overinjected to correct wrinkles. Because of the filler’s composition, the results of an ArteFill® injection will be seen immediately and will not begin to fade too quickly.
How is ArteFill® (Artecoll®) Different from Other Fillers?
The greatest difference between ArteFill® (Artecoll®) and other dermal fillers is durability of results. Studies have shown that patients who received an ArteFill® (Artecoll®) injection showed an improvement in the nasolabial folds five years after treatment. Collagen or fat injections, however, typically last only a few months since the enzymes of the injections begin to break down soon after treatment. Other fillers, like Radiesse, have small particles similar to ArteFill®. These fillers can last up to two years, well short of the longer-lasting results of ArteFill®.
Another significant difference between ArteFill® and other dermal fillers is that the composition of ArteFill® (Artecoll®) prohibits safe use of the product on thinner skin. Unlike many other fillers, ArteFill® injections should not be used to correct crow’s feet or the eyelids.

Smart Lipo (Laser Liposuction)
NEW laser fat removing treatment (Laser Lipolysis)
No matter how fit and active we are, or how carefully we watch what we eat, many of us have those stubborn areas that just won’t go away, no matter how much we try by diet and exercise. It might be your tummy, back, jaw line/jowl, backs of arms, or hips.
Liposuction might provide an answer for larger areas, but if you are worried about undergoing general anaesthesia, bruising and lengthy recovery periods, then Smart Lipo may be what you have been waiting for.
Smart Lipo is a revolutionary concept in laser assisted liposculpture. It does not involve any major procedures. As a general rule, Smart Lipo causes minimal discomfort, bruising and side effects and is very safe.
Most important of all—it really works!
But how does it work?
Smart Lipo is a minor laser lipolysis procedure, for body contouring which uses a fine cannula to deliver a safe, powerful laser to heat the fat cells,
causing them to break down. The fat deposits are simply absorbed and pass out of the body, naturally. At the same time, the laser seals off minor blood vessels and stimulates collagen production to give a smooth, sculptured finish.
As Smart Lipo is performed under a local anaesthetic, most people are fit to leave within 30 mins of completion of the procedure.

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy
What is Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Natural hormones are produced from vegetable sources and are bio-identical (chemically identical in structure) to the hormones produced by human body. Taking a natural hormone supplement, to restore a hormone already present in the body to an appropriate level, will cause no negative side effects.
Bio-identical hormones are manufactured to have the same molecular structure as the hormones made by your own body. By contrast, synthetic hormones are intentionally different. Drug companies can’t patent a bio-identical structure, so they invent synthetic hormones that are patentable (Premarin, Prempro and Provera being the most widely used examples).
Though bio-identical hormones have been around for years, most doctors are unfamiliar with them. There are several branded versions now available for use in the kind of hormone replacement therapy (“HRT”) typical of synthetic hormones. This is generally a one size fits all dosage.

Cellulite Reduction - Acoustic Wave Therapy™
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is the change in skin texture that results in dimpled or uneven skin. Cellulite is the end result of a process which develops over time and involves fat cells located in the hypodermis, your connective tissue, and your circulatory system. This is a nagging problem that millions of women face.
What causes Cellulite?
Connective tissues (fibrous septae) are strands of tissue that hold skin to muscle. They are primarily made of collagen fibers that are being nourished by the circulatory system which brings them nutrients and evacuates waste products.
The process leading to cellulite begins when the fat cell clusters, located in the hypodermis, become enlarged. The reasons for this are numerous and principally involve genetics, hormones and lifestyle. As fat cells enlarge, they gradually apply pressure on the circulatory system, compromising the inflow of nutrients to the connective tissue and the outflow of waste products. This results in a gradual stiffening of the connective tissue, leading to contraction.
As the connective tissue contracts, it pulls the skin down. Enlarged fat cell clusters, on the other hand push upwards. The consequence of this push/pull effect is what leads to cellulite.
What is Acoustic Wave Therapy?
We are proud to be one of the few throughout the US to offer this one of a kind technology referred to as AWT.
To improve the appearance of your skin, we use a machine called the D-Actor. The device uses a ballistic hand piece that generates acoustic waves which address all the components responsible for cellulite:
•The mechanical vibrations in the skin cause the connective tissue to
rapidly contract and expand, improving its flexibility.
•The acoustic wave also causes mild bruising in the hypodermis and
the natural response of the body is to develop more blood vessels to
better supply the area with nutrients necessary for the healing
process. As lack of nourishment was the main fact leading to
stiffened connective tissue, this biological reaction is critical to long
term success.
•In addition, the device initiates an inflammatory reaction in the skin.
Basically, the laser tricks dermal cells into believing it is being
attacked, initiating a self-repair mechanism that makes the body
produce its own collagen.
The procedure takes about 15 minutes for every area treated (the back of the thighs would be considered one area). The treatment involves minimal discomfort and is administered over a series of typically 6 procedures delivered twice a week over 3 weeks. Additional treatments may be necessary in about 20% of patients.
Patients may wish to have single maintenance treatments every 3 months to help maintain the improvement.

Laser Hair Reduction
Traditional hair reduction methods -- shaving, waxing, tweezing and creams -- are all time consuming and short lasting. Until recently, the only effective method for hair reduction was electrolysis, a slow and painful process in which follicles are individually destroyed by electrical current. Since 1995, however, lasers have proven to be effective in providing fast and long-lasting hair reduction.
The MeDioStar XT by Asclepion offers the ultimate in safe hair reduction technology even for darker skin types. The high power of the 810nm diode laser allows larger spot sizes and ensures effective treatment down to the deepest follicle, while the laser’s unique double-pulsing technology guarantees preservation of surrounding tissue.
The light emitted by the Mediostar XT is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) located in hair follicles, melanin pigments give the hair and its shaft their color. Permanent hair reduction involves heating the root of the hair. By coagulating (cooking) the root of the hair, we can ensure that it will not grow back. The root of the hair acts like a “lighting rod” for the laser. The light of the laser travels down the follicle and destroys the bulb, without any damage to the surrounding tissue. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment in the hair follicle- disabling several hair follicles at a time to eliminate or significantly impede the hair's regrowth - but not long enough to damage the surrounding skin. The Mediostar XT's special contact-cooling hand piece further protects the epidermis (upper layer of skin). This patented method of epidermal preservation allows delivery of more laser energy deeper into the hair follicle.
How does hair grow?
Hair forms in a pouch-like structure below the skin called a hair follicle. What we see as hair is actually the hair shaft, which is the keratinized, hardened tissue that grows from this follicle.
The best hair color for the laser light to target is dark or black hair.
Everyone's hair grows differently, depending on age, weight, metabolism, hormones, ethnicity, medications, and other factors. But all hair goes through three distinct growth phases:
Active growth phase: (called the anagen phase), which can last up to 3 months. At any given time, 20-30% of our body hair is in this phase. During anagen, the hair has an abundance of melanin and that is the key target for the laser light. To get the maximum result 6 treatments are generally required to achieve 90-95% permanent hair reduction.
Regressive phase: (catagen phase), which lasts about 3 days, during which the hair stops growing but is not yet shed. About 3 - 4% of our body hair is in this phase at any given time.
Resting phase (telogen phase), which lasts 4-14 days, at the end of which the hair falls out and a new hair begins to form. Following the laser treatment the hair appears to still grow. These hairs are in fact club (dead) hairs and within 3-4 weeks the new hair from another active growth phase will begin to grow out of the same hair shaft. Remember that even though the hair is growing out of the same hair shaft, the follicle growing is new and is now ready for the laser light.
Since hair grows in cycles multiple treatments will be necessary. The duration of the cycle (i.e. interval between treatments) will vary, but typically 4 weeks for the face, 6 weeks for the rest of the body and 8 weeks for legs.
Photo Rejuvenation
Over time, natural skin aging and exposure to UV radiation from the sun make superficial blood vessels visible and cause the skin to produce pockets of irregular pigmentation.
The Prolite II is an intense pulsed light system that delivers a series of gentle light pulses to the skin. Specific filters are used to maximize the efficiency of this intense light. The Prolite offers a non-invasive solution to skin aging by restoring a youthful appearance. This principle is called photorejuvenation.
The ProLite II Intense Pulsed Light System by Quantel Medical uses interchangeable filters that selectively block out unwanted UV and blue radiation, safely delivering broadband light to target chromophores (melanin and hemoglobin) to treat conditions such as:
•Facial telangiectasias
•Flushing and redness
•Rosacea
•Poikiloderma (red neck)
•Redness following laser skin resurfacing
•Age spots and liver spots
•Pigmented lesions
•Scar coloration and general skin elasticity
The Prolite II is not a laser - it uses a series of intense flashes of light to increase collagen formation, break-up pigment in the epidermis and remove superficial blood vessels.
Light is applied to the treatment area using a 10x20 mm sapphire waveguide that can be fired every two seconds, allowing for treatment of large areas, such as whole faces, hands, necks and decolletes, shoulders and backs. Treating large areas not only addresses specific problem areas but also results in an overall improvement in skin texture, tone, pore size and collateral collagen building.
Treatments are typically provided in a series of sessions at two-week intervals. Patients can resume normal activities immediately. To maintain long-lasting improvement, follow-up care may include bi-annual maintenance sessions.
Unique among pulsed light devices, the ProLite II has been designed with safety in mind. The smart card guarantees stable output power throughout the lifetime of the flash and its exclusive pulse shaping technology maintains the temperature of target tissue, without overheating the
epidermis, maximizing the therapeutic window. Filters can be easily interchanged so as individualize treatments, providing optimal filtration while achieving more dramatic results.
Frequently Asked Questions
Intense Pulse Light- Vascular & pigmented lesions
How does it work?
The intense pulsed light emits wavelengths that are absorbed by vascular and pigmented lesions in multiple levels of the skin. When the broad band light is absorbed by melanin (brown spots) and hemoglobin (veins/red spots), the lesions are gently heated and destroyed.
Microdermabrasion
For common skin problems such as oily or dull skin, enlarged pores, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and mild pigmentary disorders, microdermabrasion is a gentle, effective option for many patients.
The non-invasive procedure uses a precision handpiece to direct a spray of very fine, sterile crystals across the surface of the skin. This gently abrades away the dry and damaged surface cell layers, leaving the skin smoother and more vibrant. Treatments are provided in a series of sessions, usually at one- to two-week intervals, and involve no patient downtime. Follow-up care may include monthly maintenance sessions.
Microdermabrasion is also an excellent immediate pre-treatment for chemical peels and BelleDerm Skincare products. By removing dead skin layers, microdermabrasion opens the pores allowing chemical peel treatment products, cell turnover treatments, vitamin infusion serum or skin lighteners to penetrate deeper into the layers of the skin for better results.
More aggressive microdermabrasion can be used to improve the cosmetic appearance of severely damaged skin, such as hypertrophic scar revision on face, arms and legs or some stretch marks. As many as 20 treatments, applied twice weekly, may be required for optimal results
Microdermabrasion is ideal for:
•Individuals who don't want to undergo the time, expense, discomfort,
longer healing time, and possible side effects of alternative skin
resurfacing treatments such as medical-dermabrasion or laser skin
resurfacing, Microdermabrasion is for individuals who want a nice
clinical improvement of new elastin fibers in the skin and new collagen
produced by a series of 6 individual treatments.
•Individuals who want to reduce the appearance of fine lines and
wrinkles, sun damage skin, age spots, uneven skin tone mild acne
scaring, blotchiness and small scars, this is the treatment for you.
The best candidates for Microdermabrasion are women and men who want to:
•Improve their general appearance
•Maintain good healthier skin
•Reverse sun damage
•Look their best
•Stimulate the natural production of collagen
Microdermabrasion reduces the appearance of:
•Fine lines and wrinkles
•Sun damaged skin
•Age spots
•Mild Scarring
•Uneven skin tone
•Active Acne Treatments
•Hyperpigmentation(Brown Spots)
•Various Acne scarring
•Blackheads
To achieve even better results ask about our MicroPeel. This combines a medical microdermabrasion followed by a medical grade chemical peal.
Frequently Asked Questions

What areas can be treated?
Microdermabrasion can be performed on your face, but also on your hands, chest and even on areas where rough skin is prevalent, such as elbows, knees, and heels.
Chemical Peels
We perform medical grade chemical peels using compound acids available only to physician directed medical centers.
Lactic Acid (30 to 45%)
Increases elasticity of skin and improves fine lines and wrinkles. Treated skin will feel more full and plump.
Glycolic Acid (30% to 45%)
Increases elasticity of skin and improves fine lines and wrinkles. May lighten hyper-pigmented areas.
Salicylic Acid (20 to 30%)
Dries active acne and superficial blemishes, improves hyper-pigmented areas and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
Lacti-Bright (Lactic acid, hydroquinone)
Improvement in hyper-pigmented areas, fine lines and skin may have a brighter, smoother appearance.
Lite Jessner's Peel (Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Resorcinol)
Drying of active acne and superficial blemishes, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
Ultra Jessner's Peel(Same as Lite Jessners plus Hydroquinone)
Improvment of hyper-pigmented areas, fine lines and wrinkles. Dries active acne and superficial blemishes.
Jessner's Peel (14% Resorcinol 14% Salicylic 14% Lactic acid)
The higher strength of these componenets results in a much deeper
exfoliation process (average about 3 to 4 days after the peel you will have noticeable flaking). The result is great skin rejuvenation and improvements in mild to severe acne, discoloration, wrinkling and sun damage.
